The world is not black and white.
It’s a kaleidoscope of colours,
The smartest, fittest, survive
And dead, are the others,
The struggle and the divide
Evolved in sanguinary battles
Are only crises sapiens devised
To feel some sort of power,
But,
Who made these norms?
Who made this divide?
Who decided that our identity
is shame and not pride?
Who saw the world as black and white?
Who said that what he saw was only right?
So, in unison, we all will cry,
O with unity, we will survive, we will survive!

The above poem is inspired by Carol Rumens’ poem “The Migrant”. It is a poem we read in literature class.
