Hand in hand we would always swear
it was us until the very end wherever we were
Exchanged friendship bracelets and I held onto them tight
they carried our whispered secrets, our memories, and little fights
Pinkies clasped and promises made
we giggled and laughed, thought we’d never break
our friendship was a fire; warm and comforting
like the flames, it burned, but wasn’t ever-lasting
Cause as I pass by you now,
with forgotten familiarity in our hearts
I wonder if you remember how,
we’d laugh at the obscurity of drifting apart
I guess here we are, in the ruins of a wrecked friendship
Only left with burnt bracelets that I still hold onto with hope
that maybe; just maybe,
our friendship will revive along the road.
